Geneva Airport Car Rental: Tips & Best Deals

How to find the best car rental at Geneva International Airport. Where to pick up, which companies to use, and how to save money.

Where Are the Car Rental Desks at Geneva Airport?

All car rental desks are located on Level 1 (arrivals hall) of the main terminal. They are grouped together in a dedicated car rental zone. You will find Hertz, Europcar, Avis, Budget, Sixt, Enterprise, National and Thrifty all in the same area. Follow signs for 'Location de voitures' (French) or 'Car Rental' (English).

How to Get to the Car Park

After completing your paperwork at the desk, staff will direct you to the car parks. Parks P1 and P2 are connected to the terminal by a covered pedestrian walkway. The walk takes approximately 3-5 minutes. Cars are well-signed and numbered. You will receive a numbered space on your rental contract.

Should You Pre-book or Book on Arrival?

Always pre-book. Walk-in prices at airports can be 50-100% higher than pre-booked rates. The best prices are usually found when booking 2-4 weeks in advance. Use comparison sites like ours to see all providers at once and find the best deal for your dates.

Airport Surcharges Explained

Geneva Airport adds a location fee to all car rentals, typically 5-15% of the base rental cost. This is unavoidable if you pick up at the airport, but it is always included in the prices shown on our comparison. You can avoid it by picking up from a city centre location instead, though you will need transport from the airport.
